IMPORTANT NOTICE (updated: 17.01.2012): Effective from 2012, the procedure for company formation has changed in Hungary. Since the legislation is just now being put into practice, we are providing our clients with ongoing updates on our experiences. For now, incorporations are still quite fast, despite the added step of applying for a VAT number. The process of transfering a company to a new owner has also been modified, and due to various new obligations will now take a month or two to finalize. We recommend that clients wishing to buy or start up a Hungarian company contact us immediately so we can provide up-to-date information as well as detailed explanation of the consequences of these changes for your business.
When incorporating a Hungarian company with Helpers, you will receive all the support needed to get the company up and running. Our start-up package includes full-service incorporation, VAT registration, opening a bank account, and basic accountancy. Depending on your location and nationality, we may be able to conduct the entire process without you (through power of attorney) – please ask about your options.
For owners who do not own or operate an office in Hungary, we can also provide a registered office – an official address for the company with mail forwarding and administration ranging from simply handling your mail to a more complex virtual office (on-call secretarial services, customer support etc.). You will find that we can take over the burden of launching your business at surprisingly affordable rates – including bureaucratic tasks like residency and work permits or operational licenses.

Incorporation fees include all legal and administrative fees and taxes, VAT registration and assistance with opening a bank account. The price mainly depends on the ownership structure of the company to be incorporated, and on whether or not the signatories are present throughout the procedure. Virtual office:

Our basic registered office service (including a central Budapest address with mail forwarding) can be supplemented with secretarial service or other back office services. We also offer preferential rates for yearly pre-payment. Please ask for a quote.
Accounting:

Every Hungarian company is obligated to have an accountant from registration onwards. We provide you with an English-speaking accountant who is well-versed in international business and finance, and can help coordinate your Hungarian business with your existing operation if needed. In special cases, we can offer discounted rates for inactive companies, start-ups, and multiple orders. Please fill in this form to get a quote.

VAT in Hungary is 27%, charged when invoicing a buyer resident in Hungary, or an individual anywhere in the world. Corporate buyers registered outside Hungary are exempt from VAT.
