{"id":36078,"date":"2022-10-12T11:38:36","date_gmt":"2022-10-12T11:38:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/helpers.hu\/uncategorized-fa\/how-to-pay-your-company-related-taxes-in-hungary\/"},"modified":"2025-03-21T11:22:55","modified_gmt":"2025-03-21T11:22:55","slug":"how-to-pay-your-company-related-taxes-in-hungary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/helpers.hu\/fa\/%d8%ab%d8%a8%d8%aa-%d8%b4%d8%b1%da%a9%d8%aa\/how-to-pay-your-company-related-taxes-in-hungary\/","title":{"rendered":"How to pay your company related taxes in Hungary"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Taxes at your Hungarian company<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The basic taxes at your Hungarian company are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/helpersfinance.hu\/local-business-tax-how-much-do-you-need-to-pay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Local business tax<\/a>: at most 2% on your net revenues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/helpers.hu\/fa\/%d8%ae%d8%af%d9%85%d8%a7%d8%aa-%d9%85%d8%a7%d9%84%db%8c-%d9%88-%d8%ad%d8%b3%d8%a7%d8%a8%d8%af%d8%a7%d8%b1%db%8c\/where-corporate-tax-lowest-europe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Corporate tax<\/a> (also known as profit tax): 9% on your profits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/helpers.hu\/fa\/%d8%ae%d8%af%d9%85%d8%a7%d8%aa-%d9%85%d8%a7%d9%84%db%8c-%d9%88-%d8%ad%d8%b3%d8%a7%d8%a8%d8%af%d8%a7%d8%b1%db%8c\/salaries-and-payroll-taxes-in-2022-hungary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Payroll taxes<\/a>: personal income tax (15%) and social security contribution (18.5%) deducted from the gross salary of employees, social contribution tax (13%) paid by the employer on top of the gross salary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/helpers.hu\/fa\/%d8%ae%d8%af%d9%85%d8%a7%d8%aa-%d9%85%d8%a7%d9%84%db%8c-%d9%88-%d8%ad%d8%b3%d8%a7%d8%a8%d8%af%d8%a7%d8%b1%db%8c\/vat-rates-in-hungary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">VAT<\/a> (value added tax, also known as sales tax): 27% on the net price; paid by your client, but you must forward it to the Tax Authority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on your business, other types of taxes may apply. Consult your accountant before you make any major purchases for your company, such as buying property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Paying taxes on behalf of your Hungarian company<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Taxes must be paid monthly, quarterly, or yearly, and they are calculated regularly by your accountant. In special cases, you might also receive a note from the Tax Authority that a specific tax must be paid, e.g. after a property purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether the information comes from your accountant or the Tax Authority, you will always receive the details of the tax to be paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tax name and code<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tax to be paid, indicated in HUF<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bank account number (with \u201cMagyar \u00c1llamkincst\u00e1r\u201d, the Hungarian State Treasury)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Normally, you are supposed to pay your taxes in HUF by wire transfer from your Hungarian corporate bank account. Unless told otherwise, you should indicate the <strong>VAT number of your company<\/strong> in the <strong>comment section<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pay your taxes in HUF<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Start the transfer from a HUF account (preferably from a HUF account related to your Hungarian company)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Indicate the company\u2019s VAT number in the comment section of the transfer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What if you do not have a Hungarian corporate bank account?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tax payments can only be completed by <strong>wire transfer<\/strong>. If your company does not have a Hungarian bank account for whatever reason (especially as <a href=\"https:\/\/companyformation.hu\/blog\/corporate-bank-account-opening-as-a-foreigner-in-hungary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">corporate bank account opening<\/a> in Hungary has become more difficult over the last few years), you can try and make the payment from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your personal bank account;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The bank account of the parent company;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Through Wise or any other similar fintech provider.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, <strong>other forms of payment are not accepted <\/strong>in the case of company related taxes. This means that you cannot walk in to a branch office of the Treasury to make a deposit to the right tax account number, nor can you ask for a <a href=\"https:\/\/helpers.hu\/fa\/%d8%a7%d9%82%d8%a7%d9%85%d8%aa-%d9%85%d8%ac%d8%a7%d8%b1%d8%b3%d8%aa%d8%a7%d9%86\/the-yellow-check-postal-payment-slips-in-hungary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">yellow check<\/a> to pay your company related taxes at a post office.
