Thanks to it, you need just one login name and password to access the otherwise separate portals of most government-run institutions, such as the Tax Authority or the Health Insurance Fund. <a href=\"https:\/\/helpers.hu\/fa\/%d8%ae%d8%af%d9%85%d8%a7%d8%aa-%d9%85%d8%a7%d9%84%db%8c-%d9%88-%d8%ad%d8%b3%d8%a7%d8%a8%d8%af%d8%a7%d8%b1%db%8c\/the-client-gate-your-gateway-to-hungarian-electronic-administration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">You can read more about it here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00dcgyf\u00e9lkapu+<\/strong> was introduced in June 2022 to offer the same access with enhanced security. Beside a login name and a password, you need an additional tool for <strong>2-factor authentication<\/strong> to access the same portals (this normally means an additional app on your smart phone \u2013 although starting from 14 January, email codes have been available too). <a href=\"https:\/\/helpers.hu\/fa\/%d8%a7%d9%82%d8%a7%d9%85%d8%aa-%d9%85%d8%ac%d8%a7%d8%b1%d8%b3%d8%aa%d8%a7%d9%86\/two-factor-authentication-available-at-the-client-gate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">You can read more about it here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>D\u00c1P<\/strong> is an acronym for Digital Citizenship (\u201cdigit\u00e1lis \u00e1llampolg\u00e1rs\u00e1g\u201d in Hungarian, pronounced \/daap\/), and it offers the same access to government facilities through a <strong>dedicated smart phone app<\/strong> rather than any app for managing 2FA. It also offers various additional features, with more and more being rolled out gradually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#ed184a\" class=\"has-inline-color\">UPDATE: Please note that D\u00c1P is available only to people who have or are eligible for a Hungarian address card. This means that only Hungarian citizens, permanent residents, EU citizens registered in Hungary, refugees and people under protection can currently register for D\u00c1P and the services it offers.<\/mark><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading anchor-link-scroll\" id=\"january\">\u00dcgyf\u00e9lkapu is phased out in January 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you currently use the simple \u00dcgyf\u00e9lkapu to take care of electronic administration in Hungary, <strong>make sure to register for either \u00dcgyf\u00e9lkapu+ or D\u00c1P by January 15<\/strong>. Starting from January 16, the old \u00dcgyf\u00e9lkapu system will no longer be available, and you will need to visit a government office to re-enable electronic access to your government-stored data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This is to ensure that your data managed by Hungarian governmental institutions are stored and managed in a secure way<\/strong>, because the old \u00dcgyf\u00e9lkapu system no longer meets EU security requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registering for \u00dcgyf\u00e9lkapu+<\/strong> takes just a few clicks online, even if it requires that you learn to use a 2FA app on your phone (in case you do not have one yet). You can take care of it on your own. <a href=\"https:\/\/helpers.hu\/fa\/%d8%a7%d9%82%d8%a7%d9%85%d8%aa-%d9%85%d8%ac%d8%a7%d8%b1%d8%b3%d8%aa%d8%a7%d9%86\/two-factor-authentication-available-at-the-client-gate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read our description here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registering for D\u00c1P <\/strong>is possible online and at government offices. Read on to learn how to take care of it. You can download the D\u00c1P app from the AppStore or from Google Play <a href=\"https:\/\/dap.gov.hu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Please note: online D\u00c1P registration is not available to everyone. You will need the right type of Hungarian ID card and the right type of smart phone. Check first if you are eligible. If you cannot register online, you can still register for \u00dcgyf\u00e9lkapu+ in a few minutes now, and go to a government office later.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading anchor-link-scroll\" id=\"benefits\">The benefits of using D\u00c1P<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The greatest benefit of the D\u00c1P app is that besides serving as an access tool to electronic administration in Hungary, it offers various other services, with more to be rolled out gradually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">D\u00c1P functions available right now:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Acceptable instead of a Hungarian ID card<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Easy request feature for a <a href=\"https:\/\/helpers.hu\/fa\/%d8%a7%d9%82%d8%a7%d9%85%d8%aa-%d9%85%d8%ac%d8%a7%d8%b1%d8%b3%d8%aa%d8%a7%d9%86\/how-to-obtain-a-certificate-of-good-conduct-in-hungary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">certificate of good conduct<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digital signature (being rolled out right now): replacing the <a href=\"https:\/\/helpers.hu\/fa\/%d8%a7%d9%82%d8%a7%d9%85%d8%aa-%d9%85%d8%ac%d8%a7%d8%b1%d8%b3%d8%aa%d8%a7%d9%86\/how-to-use-avdh-to-verify-your-documents-in-hungary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AVDH tool<\/a> that was available online up till now<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">D\u00c1P functions to be rolled out in the near future:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Q1 2025: registration made even easier<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Q3 2025: QR login with non-governmental providers, e.g. banks, utility providers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Q3 2025: electronic signature to be accepted by other, non-governmental providers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Q4 2024: vehicle sale\/purchase agreements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Q4 2024: replacing other physical documents (pilot)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Q4 2024: proof of eligibility with non-governmental providers (like age or other factors that make you eligible for discounts)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading anchor-link-scroll\" id=\"register\">How to register for the D\u00c1P app in Hungary?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To make registration easier, you can follow instructions in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SJeJMiQx2mo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this video tutorial<\/a>. Unfortunately, it is only available only in Hungarian and with Hungarian subtitles for now. The below information covers and complements the content of the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For D\u00c1P registration, you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be at least 14 years old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have a valid ID document (Hungarian ID card or driver\u2019s license, or your passport and residence permit)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have a smart phone that is modern enough<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have a Hungarian mobile phone number (not necessarily your own, may be of a trusted friend or family member)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where do you register?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can take care of D\u00c1P registration <strong>either online or at any government office<\/strong>. You may choose to do the registration online on your own only if you have a Hungarian ID card that was issued after 23 June 2021. Otherwise you need to visit a government office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">D\u00c1P registration at a government office<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you do not have a new Hungarian ID card, you will need to <strong>register for D\u00c1P in person at a government office<\/strong>. The procedure is simple enough, just take the following steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make an appointment for D\u00c1P registration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Download the application to your phone in advance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take your ID document with you (for most third-country nationals, this will mean the passport and the residence permit)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure you have data on your phone in case there is no Wi-Fi at the government office<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once at the office, the administrator will walk you through the registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">D\u00c1P registration online<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Online registration will be available to you <strong>only if you have a Hungarian ID card that was issued after 23 June 2021<\/strong>. This means that your card is an electronic ID card or e-ID card, which offers enhanced functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before getting started with D\u00c1P, you should <strong>check if you have the right type of ID card, and if it is \u201cactive\u201d<\/strong>. If it is not active, you can activate it yourself (or go to the government office to take care of this too). For this, you will need to download the eSzem\u00e9lyiM app (\u201cmy e-ID\u201d) to your phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Download the <a href=\"https:\/\/eszemelyi.hu\/eszemelyim-applikacio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eSzem\u00e9lyiM app<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the eAzonos\u00edt\u00e1s function from the menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hold the card close to your phone and let the NFC scan the card<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A message will show if your card is active or not<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If it is not active (\u201cNincs aktiv\u00e1lva\u201d), press the big green button (\u201cAktiv\u00e1l\u00e1s\u201d) to activate it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type your 5-digit activation pin code that you received with your ID card and set a new (6 digit) pin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have an activated e-ID card, you can proceed to work on your D\u00c1P registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Download the <a href=\"https:\/\/dap.gov.hu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">D\u00c1P app<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click \u201c<strong>Regisztr\u00e1ci\u00f3 megkezd\u00e9se<\/strong>\u201d to start the registration process<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm that you are over 14<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm that you have read the Terms &amp; Conditions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Next (\u201cTov\u00e1bb\u201d, the big blue button)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Set up a new 6-digit pincode for accessing the D\u00c1P app<\/strong> (make it different from your e-ID pin code)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the next screen called \u201cRegisztr\u00e1lj egyszer\u0171en\u201d (Easy registration), you can choose whether you want to take care of registration at a government office or online. <strong>Choose the second option for online registration<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Now you will need to <strong>identify yourself with your ID card<\/strong>. Use the phone <strong>camera<\/strong> to read the back side of your ID card (you will need to allow camera use for this; for best results, put the ID card sideways). Then enter the <strong>pin code<\/strong> of the ID card (the same you set up during activation). Once ready, scan the ID card with the <strong>NFC reader<\/strong> of your phone. This may take a few moments, or you might need to retry it to find the right position.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After successful identification, you need to <strong>enter some additional pieces of information<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your <strong>birth date<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your <strong>e-mail address<\/strong>. You will receive a verification link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check your inbox and confirm your e-mail address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your <strong>Hungarian mobile phone number<\/strong> (preferably the number of the phone you are using, but it can be the phone number of a trusted friend or family member as well).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will get a text message to this number. Enter the verification code into the D\u00c1P app.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enjoy the benefits<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>And you are done! From now on, you can use the D\u00c1P app to log in to various government portals. Just select D\u00c1P on the login screen, and scan the QR code with the D\u00c1P application. Then you can take care of electronic administration the same as before.
