These include e.g.\nthe right to a safe work environment or to getting paid on time, or the\nobligation to show up for work on time or to do a good job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hiring new employees<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Your employee needs Hungarian social\nsecurity, a local registered address, and a tax number. You must conclude a\nlabor contract that states the parties of the contract, the gross salary, the\nEmployee\u2019s position, the first day of employment, the duration of the\nemployment relationship (indefinite or fixed-term), the daily work hours\n(full-time or part-time), the place of work and the probation period, and it\nwill most probably contain a detailed job description as an annex. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fact of the employment should be reported to the authorities BEFORE the employment starts. <a href=\"https:\/\/helpers.hu\/ru\/%d0%b2%d0%b8%d0%b4-%d0%bd%d0%b0-%d0%b6%d0%b8%d1%82%d0%b5%d0%bb%d1%8c%d1%81%d1%82%d0%b2%d0%be\/checklist-for-hiring-an-employee-employment-in-hungary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Read more here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Working hours and rest periods<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The standard number of working hours in Hungary is <strong>40 hours per week in full time employment<\/strong>, while part-time jobs are also possible. Most people work 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day, somewhere between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. However, there might be variations depending on the business, and there is great flexibility. In any case, rest-periods must be respected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The employee must\nbe given at least 20 minutes in breaks for a work day of more than six hours\nand an additional 25 minutes in breaks for a work day of more than nine hours\n(in the latter case, this means a total of at least 45 minutes). There must be\nat least 11 hours between the end of the preceding day\u2019s work and the beginning\nof the next day\u2019s work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Minimum wages<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The labor law defines <strong>minimum wages<\/strong> to ensure that everyone gets a fair remuneration for their work. It is increased every few years to match the inflation. If you are employing people in positions that require great responsibility, you will probably need to pay salaries higher than the minimum wage. <a href=\"https:\/\/helpers.hu\/ru\/%d0%b1%d1%83%d1%85%d0%b3%d0%b0%d0%bb%d1%82%d0%b5%d1%80%d0%b8%d1%8f-%d0%b8-%d1%84%d0%b8%d0%bd%d0%b0%d0%bd%d1%81%d1%8b\/salaries-and-payroll-taxes-in-2025-hungary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read more here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Payroll and accountancy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Your payroll-specialist working with your accountant will calculate the salary to be paid to your employee based on attendance, sick-leaves, overtime, wage supplements \u2013 considering all factors that could influence the net salary. If your employee receives a monthly salary, they must be <strong>paid by the 10<sup>th<\/sup> of each month<\/strong> following the relevant month. If the 10<sup>th<\/sup> falls on a weekend or a bank holiday, the salary must be paid on the last PRECEDING workday. The number of these days and the salary to be paid for them is governed by the labor law. <a href=\"https:\/\/helpers.hu\/ru\/%d0%bf%d0%be%d0%b4%d0%b1%d0%be%d1%80-%d0%bf%d0%b5%d1%80%d1%81%d0%be%d0%bd%d0%b0%d0%bb%d0%b0\/state-holidays-vacation-days-employees-hungary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Read more here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trial period<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the start of the employment, there is\nusually a probation period during which either party can decide to terminate\nthe relationship without explanation and without a notice period. The length of\nthis is at most 3 months, and it should be indicated in the labor contract. If\nthe trial period indicated in the labor contract is shorter than 3 months, it\ncan be extended once, but it still cannot be longer than 3 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Work safety<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The right to a safe work environment includes requirements for regular work safety trainings, fire safety trainings, and health checkups.
