2025 has been an eventful year here at Helpers. We celebrated our 20th anniversary, and we have launched our third thematic website that displays our updated design (helpersfinance.hu) to provide our clients a more uniform experience when browsing our services. In Hungary, December is also the season for holiday preparations – and holidays, of course, when you can ideally take time off from work, spend time with friends and family, and reflect on the year past and the year to come. We hope you will also get some rest to yourself.

When you apply for residency, you will need a place to live in Hungary which will also serve as your Hungarian address. Most people will rent an apartment as it is a cost-effective way to spend 2-3 years in Hungary. Here you will see an overview of aspects to consider.

You and your partner can get married in Hungary if both of you are legally competent adults (above 18). You will need a civil ceremony with a representative of the registrar’s office as the officiant; having a religious ceremony is optional. The process is more or less the same for Hungarian and foreign couples, although it takes longer for foreigners because they will need additional documents to prove there are no legal obstacles to the marriage.
