Property purchase in Hungary

For the purpose of the residency application you will be required to make a new property purchase (that is, if you already have real estate in Hungary, you cannot base your application on that in this program). Your new investment needs to be in a residential property that is worth at least EUR 85,000 (HUF 25,000,000).

The Property Purchase Program

In order to become eligible, first you should find a suitable property to buy (residential, worth EUR 85K). Once you have an agreement with the seller, you can apply for your Hungarian residence permit. Your spouse and underage children can apply simultaneously, through the family unification procedure.

If you have not yet made the actual purchase and have only an agreement when you apply, the deal will need to be completed within 3 months once you have received your residence permit. The permits will be valid for 5 years, and can be renewed as long as you still have the property on which it was first based on.

The processing fee of the Property Residence Permit Program is EUR 50,000. It covers the legal fees of the application. In the unlikely case of rejection, a 50% refund on the processing fee is available, and we will assist you in selling your property (if you wish).
