Hungarian Golden Visa Program goes live

July 1, 2024

The time has come: the promised day for the launch of the Hungarian Golden Visa Program has arrived. Starting from 1 July 2024, you can apply for your guest investor visa, which is the first step to obtaining 10+10 years of Hungarian residency, and we would be happy to help.

1 July 2024

The new immigration law that came into force on 1 January 2024 stated that the Hungarian Golden Visa Program will go live on 1 July 2024. While some details still need clarification, applications are officially open, so you can start the procedure that will let you and you family members EU residency for 10+10 years, meaning Hungarian residency for up to 10 years, with an option for renewal.

For now you just need to:

  • Decide which option you want
  • Have proof that you have the funds required for the option you prefer available

Investment options

Although the program is now officially live, there are some details that still need clarification. As a result, currently, the following option is available:

  • EUR 250,000: purchase of bonds issued by a real estate fund registered by the Hungarian National Bank (MNB)

The other options will become available as a government decree is published to clarify the remaining details. If you want to take advantage of the program as soon as possible, your best chance is to choose the real estate fund investment option.

Our processing fee for the program starts from EUR 25,000 (+VAT if applicable). This includes the guest investor visa and residency applications for the main applicant and their entire family (spouse and underage children).

We are expecting further details to be published in a government decree. As soon as more information is available, we will let you know. Updates may be relevant for both the processing fee and the list of registered real estate funds, as well as the remaining two investment options.
