Hungary: Investment Immigration

augusztus 18, 2014

Hungary is located in the center of Europe. Thanks to its good infrastructure you can easily access all major European capitals by car, train or air from Budapest, the beautiful capital city – and if you are a resident of Hungary, you don’t even need a visa to travel in the Schengen visa zone.

Currently, the most popular offers for businessmen who want to relocate to Europe are the following:

  1. Residency through company formation. If you want to start doing business in Europe, you might want to start with opening a company in Hungary. Here the corporate tax is only 10%, the lowest in Europe. The company can be set up within 2-3 business days, and you will immediately receive an EU VAT number as well. The minimum capital is relatively low, and you do not have to deposit it: you can spend it on company-related expenses, e.g. investments, market research, stocks, warehouse or office rental.
Running a company makes you eligible for residency in Hungary, and HELPERS can help you with all aspects of the process from writing your business plan through providing a registered company seat to finding an office and employees – and of course, applying for your permit.
  2. Permanent residency through investment into government bonds. In the Hungarian investment immigration program, an investment into Hungarian government bonds guarantees a permanent resident permit to you and your family. The investment period lasts for five years, after which you get back the whole sum intact. The government keeps the interest, but in exchange you and your family can enjoy the advantages of having permanent residency in Hungary – which later can be converted to citizenship (this is why the program is sometimes called “Hungary investment citizenship program”).
The investment sum is only EUR 250,000 (+ government processing fee EUR 40,000), which makes this the best such offer available in Europe. The processing fee covers for the work of the investment agency, the participating lawyers, and VIP service from HELPERS.
