When you visit Budapest or live in the Hungarian capital, it is not difficult to find beautiful sights and opportunities for some wellness or great entertainment. But what if you are looking for something more challenging?
If you need some challenge, we have good news for you: there is a growing number of room escape games in Budapest. If you don’t know why an escape room is so much fun, read our article here. Room escape games are usually played in groups, so not only they offer challenges to groups of friends but also team building activities for coworkers.
If you are a foreigner, the language barrier might pose a problem. Most room escape games, however, are available in English as well. Before you book an appointment, you should ask the staff to make sure the room will be suitable for you and your group.
“Classic” escape rooms typically focus on a series of brainteasers and logic games for adults. If you are looking for a place like that, Escape House and Logikamra are definitely for you. If you are interested in something less traditional, you might want to choose one of the themed escape rooms.
Horror is perhaps one of the most popular escape room themes. If you are not afraid of spooky chambers, Exit Point and Időcsapda (“Time Trap”) are the places to go. They offer different but equally creepy options. Less terrifying, but still more thrilling rooms are available at Parapark, MindCrime and Locked Escape Game, where you can either rob a bank or investigate a murder.
If you are not so eager for the thrill, the movie-themed Team Escape offers a more friendly but still intriguing experience. The historical themed MystiqueRoom and Mysterygames, are equally amusing.
Escape rooms are typically open all year round. There are various kinds: classic and themed ones, for beginners or more experienced teams, for couples or for groups of six. In addition, many of them offer special team building programs for work mates.
If you are looking for a unique experience, either with your partner, your friends, or your coworkers, room escape games are definitely worth a try.
